About KISO

Our Story
and Purpose

Kiso was born from a desire to create more safe

spaces in DTLA for the LGBTQIA+ community—a place

where we can gather, celebrate authenticity, and feel at home. Located in the former Score, once said to be the oldest gay bar in DTLA, Kiso honors queer history while building a new future rooted in joy, connection, and chosen family. Designed with a nod to Mayan culture and built with love, sweat, and soul, Kiso is a tropical escape from the chaos of the outside world. Whether you’re here to dance your worries away, discover queer art, or simply feel better than when you arrived—Kiso is our home, and yours too.

What's inside?

KISO hosts a wide range of events for the LGBTQIA+ community. KISO offers great cocktails,  friendly staff and 3 rooms to explore.

When entering you walk into our cocktail bar with plenty of tables and seating for guests to visit and relax. Then you will enter our lounge, where mood lighting and seating for larger groups offers a perfect space to celebrate anything special with your crew.  Pass through the archway on the other end of the lounge and enter our dance floor room including another bar, a stage for performances, DJ sets, etc. and of course the dance floor!

So, wether you just want to sit down and catch up with friends, celebrate something great with your crew or just dance the night away…

you can do it at KISO.
